Rock Band, an attempt to remove Guitar Hero’s monopoly on the genre it started, was released in the US today. With the backing of MTV and Harmonix, developers of the original Guitar Hero, it will be interesting to see how well this game manages to do. Early reviews are extremely positive, though I wonder whether MTV’s lack of publishing experience will hamper the title.
