Activision, which has seen a sharp rise in revenues of late largely on the back of the Guitar Hero franchise, will be merging with Vivendi Games through an investment that will give Vivendi Universal a 52% stake in the new company, to be named Activision Blizzard.
It does not appear this will have any immediate impact on Activision’s day-to-day operations. In terms of Guitar Hero specifically, however, this does give Activision direct access to Universal Music Group, the world’s largest music company.
